• English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
• English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0
Subtitles: English SDH

Video – 5.0 out of 5

This new 1080p presentation sourced from the 4K restoration is among the best Blu-ray transfers Kino Lorber has released to date. Picture clarity is top-tier, with superb contrast, clean grain structure, and accurate color reproduction that matches the film’s early ’90s visual tone. Shadow detail holds strong during darker sequences without crush, and fine texture—especially on facial closeups and location details—is rendered beautifully. There are no signs of DNR or artificial sharpening.

Audio – 5.0 out of 5

Both the 5.1 and 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks are excellent, offering clean, well-balanced dialogue and lively support for James Horner’s memorable score. While the 5.1 mix doesn’t fully exploit the rear channels for aggressive effects, it creates a consistent and immersive atmosphere. The 2.0 stereo mix is surprisingly robust, with strong clarity and dynamic range that will please purists. No audio sync or clarity issues detected.

Special Features – 3.5 out of 5

✔️ Commentary #1 – Phil Alden Robinson with Lawrence Lasker and Walter F. Parkes
✔️ Commentary #2 – Phil Alden Robinson with cinematographer John Lindley
✔️ The Making of Sneakers – Archival 41-minute documentary with cast and crew
✔️ Theatrical Trailer – Original promo trailer (3 minutes)

Overall – 4.0 out of 5

The Blu-ray disc in this combo set is an outstanding upgrade for anyone who hasn’t gone 4K yet. Thanks to the recent 4K remaster, the 1080p disc is leagues above older releases. Audio is excellent across both tracks, and the included bonus features (though archival) offer worthwhile insight into the film’s production. A solid release for fans of ‘90s heist thrillers and one of the most well-rounded Blu-rays Kino has issued in 2025.
