Movie
1.5/5
Despite a strong lead performance from Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kraven the Hunter sinks under the weight of incoherent storytelling, tonal whiplash, and baffling creative choices. It tries to mix mythic animal spirits, dysfunctional family drama, and Spider-Man lore — but ends up with a mess that’s more confused than compelling.
4K Video Quality

✅ Native 4K scan from the original camera negative
✅ Dolby Vision and HDR10 enhancement
✅ Approved by director Renny Harlin
- Bold color palette shines: golden interiors, teal lairs, misty jungles — all pop
- Textural clarity is impressive: from Kraven’s scars to jungle foliage
- Deep blacks and controlled contrast, but cinematography is intentionally dim in places
- Visual effects still look bad, and no amount of 4K detail can save some of the CGI
- No banding, compression, or artifacting; encode is rock-solid
➤ Visually well-crafted 4K disc, held back only by the film’s murky lighting and flawed CGI.
Audio Quality
5.0/5
Dolby Atmos is the star here.
- Explosive use of height and surround — wildebeest stampedes rumble from all sides
- Prison scenes and jungle ambiences feature immersive directional sound
- LFE hits hard during action, especially in the final Rhino showdown
- Clear, grounded dialogue and excellent prioritization
- Sound mix compensates where visuals falter — one of the best Atmos tracks for a Sony comic film this year
➤ An absolute beast of a sound mix. Hear it loud, feel it deeper.

Overall Score
3.5/5 – Excellent Presentation, Forgettable Movie ❗
✨ Sony’s 4K disc is a technical win — stunning visuals, thunderous audio, and a few thoughtful extras
Unfortunately, the film itself is more Kraven the Blunder than anything else
For A/V collectors and comic completionists only.
