Movie

Mel Gibson directs this taut sky thriller starring Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery, and Topher Grace. ️✈️ A U.S. Marshal, a pilot, and a criminal informant share a flight where betrayal is just around the next turbulence pocket. While the premise hints at high-flying tension, the story struggles to maintain altitude. Still, the performances and stunning setting help it coast to a decent landing.

Video Quality – 5.0/5

The 1080p Blu-ray presentation is very strong. While it lacks the pinpoint sharpness of the 4K disc, detail is still excellent, especially on close-ups and vast Alaskan backdrops. ❄️ Colors lean cool with lots of icy blues and grays, but there’s a natural richness that keeps things cinematic. Compression is handled well, and only the occasional green-screen moment looks a little soft. For a Blu-ray, it’s top-tier. ️

Audio Quality – 5.0/5

The included Dolby TrueHD 7.1 track performs just as well as the Atmos version (minus the height channels). Planes roar, storms crackle, and action sequences hit with strong directionality and lively rear channel support. Dialogue is crisp and front-and-center, even when chaos erupts. An impressive and well-mixed soundtrack for standard Blu-ray. ✈️️

Special Features – 1.0/5

Same extras as the 4K disc:

  • Risk Management: Making Flight Risk (HD, 8:10)
  • Theatrical Trailer (HD, 1:19)
Light bonus material that barely scratches the surface.

Overall – 2.0/5

While the Blu-ray looks and sounds great, Flight Risk itself doesn’t reach blockbuster storytelling heights. Great technical execution with a serviceable disc, but the movie won’t stay on your mind after landing.
