Scott Calvin accidentally causes Santa Claus to fall to his death from his roof on Christmas Eve. When Scott and his young son, Charlie, finish the late St. Nick’s deliveries, they are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa’s place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he’s dreaming, but over the next several months he gains weight and grows an inexplicably white beard! Scott learns he must become the new Santa and convince those he loves that he is indeed Father Christmas.
