Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning (Final Reckoning Cut) – Blu-ray Disc Review
Paramount (Spain Import) | 164 min | PG-13 | 2024
Genres: Action, Espionage, Thriller
Video Quality — 4 / 5
Sourced from the same 4K master but down-converted to 1080p SDR, the Blu-ray still looks very strong. Detail remains crisp in close-ups and medium shots; motion is clean with no judder or noise. Without HDR, highlights are less vivid and black levels sit slightly lifted compared to the 4K, but color grading remains consistent and natural. For standard HD setups, this is an excellent transfer — sharp, artifact-free, and cinematic.
Audio Quality — 4.5 / 5
The Blu-ray includes Dolby Atmos (downward-compatible with TrueHD 7.1). Even without full UHD bandwidth, it remains a powerful, room-filling mix.
- Explosions and engine roars carry tight LFE
- Height channels engage during set-pieces and crowd chaos
- Music and dialogue are cleanly prioritized
The drop from UHD doesn’t blunt the mix — this is still reference-level action audio on Blu-ray.
Special Features — 3 / 5
Typical feature load on this edition (varies slightly by region):
- Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes
- Stunt Breakdown Segments
- Production Gallery / Interviews
- Theatrical Trailers
No new content specific to the “Final Reckoning” version; extras are archival from the standard release materials.
⚖️ Overall — 4 / 5 ⭐
An excellent Blu-ray presentation with muscular Atmos sound and a clean, high-bitrate picture sourced from the same elements as the 4K. While the UHD disc remains the definitive version, this Blu-ray stands tall on its own and is a worthy companion for those not yet on 4K or collecting both formats.
