F1: The Movie (2025) – Blu-ray Review
Warner Bros. | 2025 | Rated PG-13 | Runtime: ~155 min
Genres: Action • Sports • Drama
Video Quality — 4 / 5
This Blu-ray uses the same 4K master as the UHD but without HDR. The result is a clean, high-bitrate 1080p encode with superb clarity for standard HD setups.
- Fine details in cars, helmets, and crowd shots remain impressively sharp.
- Color reproduction is accurate, though naturally flatter than the Dolby Vision version.
- Shadows are a little more compressed, but still stable with no crush or noise.
- Motion is smooth with no compression artifacts.
Overall, this is one of the best-looking Blu-rays Warner has authored for a modern film — crisp, cinematic, and perfectly clean.
Audio Quality — 4.5 / 5
The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix is excellent and maintains much of the Atmos mix’s intensity.
- Engines and crowd ambience are wide and immersive.
- Dialogue remains perfectly balanced and clear.
- Surrounds carry racing effects and music cues with punch and clarity.
- Low-end presence is deep and consistent without distortion.
While it loses the overhead precision of the 4K’s Atmos track, this is still reference-level 5.1 for Blu-ray.
Special Features — 4 / 5
Same strong lineup as the 4K set:
- The Sound of Speed
- Making It to Silverstone
- The Anatomy of a Crash
- APXGP Innovations
- Lewis Hamilton: Producer Perspective
- Cast and Crew Featurettes
- Trailer Gallery
All presented in HD with optional subtitles.
⚖️ Overall — 4.5 / 5 ⭐
Warner’s Blu-ray of F1: The Movie is an outstanding disc — sleek visuals, impactful audio, and a thorough extras package. The 4K remains the definitive edition, but this Blu-ray easily ranks among the best HD presentations of 2025.
